Mark Painter grew up in the village of Nether Stowey, and
always harboured a wish to become a Radio DJ.
Educated at Nether Stowey Primary School, and then at Dr
Morgans in Bridgwater, Mark started his career being trained as an electronic
engineer for a local music shop.
At the age of 21 he decided to make a career out of DJ'ing,
and spent the next few years doing the rounds of pubs, clubs and private parties
as a jobbing mobile DJ.
In the 70 and 80's there can be few places that he didn't play
at with 'The Splodge Roadshow' being one of the top local mobile discos.
After taking time out to raise a family, Mark came back in
contact with Dave Englefield, and together with Nick Rickards they formulated
the plan to give Bridgwater and Sedgemoor its own ,radio station.
Mark now presents the Afternoon Show on Quaywest 102.4, 100.8 and 107.4, together with the Saturday Morning programme on Quaywest 107.4FM
every Saturday between 8am and 12 Midday.
